MEET LAUREN

Welcome to my website! I hope you enjoy browsing through my portfolio, which showcases some of my favorite work.

Here’s a little bit about myself…

hOW IT’s going

I wear a handful of hats across the sports media landscape: play-by-play broadcaster, host, reporter, emcee, analyst, content creator, and writer.

Today, I work primarily in golf and live sports media. I'm a play-by-play commentator for PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+, host of The Drop on Golf Channel, and an on-site host, interviewer, and storyteller across PGA TOUR, Korn Ferry Tour, and collegiate golf events. I also serve as a digital host and reporter for Front Office Sports, producing social-first content at some of the biggest events in sports.

Beyond traditional broadcast work, I create digital content and partner directly with tournaments, brands, sponsors, and organizations to bring sports stories to life across broadcast and social media platforms. My work has also expanded into branded content partnerships spanning sports, travel, hospitality, fashion, and lifestyle brands.

I continue to tell stories across the sports landscape. I work as a broadcaster, host, and reporter for events airing on ESPN and BTN+, while also creating on-site content across NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA, and Formula 1.

I also write feature stories for the Chicago District Golf Association Magazine and regularly speak to journalism students at Northwestern University about creativity, entrepreneurship, networking, and building a career in sports media.

I love calling upon my scientific education at work, applying concepts related to sports psychology and athletic performance to my analysis and storytelling. My background in fine art shows through my knack for thinking outside the box to create unique, engaging content, from idea conception to publication. My competitive spirit keeps me motivated to improve my craft daily and create the best possible work for my team.

I absolutely love what I do and can't wait to see where the journey takes me next.

hOW IT STARTED

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, I grew up playing practically every sport under the rainbow. I was never the team MVP, but I loved everything that sports added to my life — the friends, the competition, the mentorship and the activity. I planned to play lacrosse in college before a hiking accident my sophomore year of high school left me sidelined with a brain injury. I pivoted my future plans away from D3 schools to the Big Ten and developed a strong passion for mental health.

I switched my energy away from playing sports towards other things I loved: writing, creating art, teaching yoga and coaching. I continued to pursue these passions at the University of Michigan, where I enrolled in the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program, a living-learning community for writing and fine art.

Once at Michigan, I discovered the field of sports psychology and found it was the perfect combination of my love for sports and passion for mental health. I dual-enrolled in the College of Literature, Science & the Arts and School of Kinesiology to study Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience and Movement Science, while I minored in American Culture.

A friend in my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, asked me to help on set of the Michigan Basketball show she produced for WOLV-TV, U of M's student-run TV station. I spent one afternoon on set and fell in love with a job I had never considered before: sports reporting.

My junior year of college, I pitched myself to a director at FOX Sports Detroit in a press box elevator at Madison Square Garden during the Men's Big Ten Basketball Tournament. An elevator pitch (literally) landed me my first industry job and I haven't looked back since!

After graduating from Michigan, I headed to Chicago to earn my Master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Shortly after graduation, I returned to Northwestern Football as the program's Assistant Director of Creative Content & Team Reporter, creating content, telling stories, and serving as the voice of the Wildcats across digital platforms. On Saturdays, I joined the WGN Radio broadcast team as the sideline reporter for Northwestern Football games.

Those experiences gave me an opportunity to wear a lot of hats — reporter, host, writer, producer, content creator and broadcaster — while learning how to tell stories on every platform imaginable. They also laid the foundation for the work I do today covering golf, motorsports, and so much more on a national stage.

life behind the scenes

I love that I’m able to incorporate so many things I love into my work: creativity, art, sports, health, people and stories.

Outside of work, you can usually find me bouncing between Michigan, Chicago and whatever city my next assignment takes me to. I spend a lot of time traveling, but whenever I'm home, I love throwing a tennis ball for my pup, Rookie, exploring new golf courses (I’m still on a mission to consistently break 90), and searching for the best live country music scene I can find.

I still keep up with fine art and am working on a never-ending series of charcoal drawings depicting each stadium, arena and golf course I've worked in.

I also love to teach yoga (I have my RYT-500 certification and have taught classes for the Detroit Pistons!), cook new recipes, spend time outdoors, post up in a hammock to read, and catch a game from the stands whenever I can.

When I'm not working, there's a good chance I'm planning my next trip or throwing a dinner party for family and friends.
